Because there is a team for everyone. From Ereklasse to Touch, from first training to last third half.

Ian is an experienced rugby coach from South Africa with more than 20 years of experience developing players and coaches. In South Africa he coached young talent at both Paul Roos and SAS in Stellenbosch, and a good number of them went on to become Springboks and world champions. Ian brings that experience to Rugby Football Club Haarlem.
He knows better than anyone how to challenge players to improve and learn to perform, while keeping the fun in rugby. With his South African rugby knowledge, energy and personal approach, Ian wants to inspire players and coaches to bring out the best in themselves and in each other, at every level.
Every year, a large number of our players are part of the Dutch national squads from U16 to U20, the Delta programme and the senior men's national team.
Delta gives talented players aged around 20 to 24 the chance to keep developing after U20, and it is the breeding ground for the national men's team. This strong presence at national level underlines the quality of our youth programme and the Haarlem Pathway.
Our internationals are an inspiration to the next generation of rugby talent. Rugbyclub Haarlem is proud of its strong presence in the national squads of Rugby Nederland.

Playing style
Built on our club history and inspired by the modern South African playing style. It brings calm, clarity and consistent quality to the game. From the youth to Men's 1, we work along the same line.
01
Faster
Fast decisions, fast line speed and fast rucks.
02
More tactical
A clear plan for the kicking game, territory and control of the match.
03
Mentally strong
Players and staff who stay resilient, also when things go against them.
04
Disciplined
Structure in our game and as few errors and penalties as possible.
05
Physically dominant
Strong in contact, but always controlled.
06
Innovative
Always looking for better ways, without gimmicks.
