The club

Rugbyclub Haarlem builds character

What we believe

Through rugby we improve ourselves, each other and our community

Ourselves

Rugby asks you to push your limits, keep going and take responsibility. That makes you stronger, on the pitch and off it. You grow physically and in how you carry yourself.

Each other

You never play alone. Young or old, men or women, small or tall, fast or strong: there is a place on the pitch for everyone. You learn from your teammates, your coach and the experience of others. Whether you want to play at the highest level or mostly enjoy the game together: you belong.

Our community

Our club belongs to Haarlem. Through rugby and our clubhouse we support initiatives that contribute to a better living environment, the development of rugby and the wellbeing of people in Haarlem and the region.

How we do it

This is how we behave

Rugby is known for its strong values. We live them, on and off the pitch. We respect the referee, even when a decision goes against us. We are on time. The player is there for the team and the team is there for the player, from the youngest Mug to the oldest veteran. The changing room is swept before the team leaves, home and away. And off the pitch we take part: schools, the neighbourhood and partners are welcome, and whoever asks for help gets it from our people, our pitches and our clubhouse.

What we do

On the pitch and beyond

Ereklasse

Men's 1 plays at the highest level in the Netherlands, with players from our own youth.

International Director of Rugby

A clear development pathway for all our players, with many experienced coaches.

HPP, Future Team and the Delta

Extra development and international playing experience for youth and young adults.

Over 250 youth members

Seven youth age groups, from U6 to U18. Four men's teams, a women's team, touch and recreational: a place at every level.

Sports Facility of the Year 2026

Our clubhouse, according to NOC*NSF and Kenniscentrum Sport & Bewegen. Open to schools, the neighbourhood and partners.

Harde Leerschool and ALS City Swim

The schools tournament, holiday sports camps and 100 voor 100: a hundred children from families where sport is not a given learn to play rugby. We support Turn-over and the Harde Leerschool with pitches, clubhouse and volunteers.

Where we are heading

The centre of rugby in North Holland

Elite and grassroots rugby that strengthen each other. A development pathway for every level. A clubhouse that is open to Haarlem and the region. Partnerships with schools in the region, in sport and in the development of young people. With sound rugby knowledge, and committed and active members and supporters.
