How coaches, team staff and players interact cannot be regulated in every detail. Certainly not when physical contact is needed, for example for instruction, correction or help while learning skills, or to prevent an unsafe situation. Even so, it is good to set out principles and rules of conduct. They help decide, in real situations, where the line lies between acceptable and unwanted behaviour by coaches and team staff. The aim is to protect everyone and keep public trust in rugby.
The codes of conduct
